There seems to be more activism than ever now: political activism, social activism, and of course, corporate activism. Executives are right to be on guard against shareholder activists, who can turn the opinion of boards and of other shareholders alike, changing business practices and governance alike.

But there's another kind of activist out there now that probably requires even more attention. Because if this kind of activist is ignored, the effects to the organization can be much deeper and severe.
